TUTS Underground Ticket Give Away.

A fun new experience/night out in Houston

I’m giving away 2 tickets to Friday nights Theater Under The Stars Underground Series, plus drink tickets. To enter “follow” me on instagram comment that you would like to go and I will pick a winner Thursday morning!

TUTS Underground series called  Murder Ballad tells the sultry story of passion’s dark side. A love triangle gone wrong, the show centers on Sara, an Upper West Sider who seemingly has it all but whose downtown past lingers enticingly and dangerously in front of her. This sexy new rock musical explores the complications of love, the compromises we make, and the betrayals that can ultimately undo us.

In addition to the stellar cast and creative team, TUTS Underground is taking the theatre
experience one step further with this musical. In keeping with the bar-theme of the
show, the theatre will transform Zilkha Hall into a part of the set. The 500-seat room will
play host to a fully operational bar on stage that will serve drinks starting one hour
before the show up until the show starts. VIP “Bar Fly” packages with onstage bar-side
tables will be available for purchase starting March 24 at www.TUTS.com/Events or by
calling the box office at 713-558-8887.

After the show, guests are encouraged to soak up the beautiful weather in The Garden
– a portion of Zilkha Hall’s patio that is transformed into an outdoor bar, complete with
IKEA’s stylish lounge furniture and special lighting. Patrons can mix and mingle in The
Garden with fellow theatre fans and company members from Murder Ballad

Heading the show as the leading ladies are Lauren Molina, who plays Sara, and
Kristin Warren, who plays the narrator. Molina’s stage credits are comprised of
Broadway’s Rock of Ages and Sweeney Todd as well as the first national tour of
Sweeney Todd. Warren is a native Houstonian who has appeared many times at
TUTS. Her most recent appearances include Cabaret, The Sound of Music, Guys and
Dolls and Man of La Mancha. She won an award as the Best Actress in a Musical from
BroadwayWorld.com voters in 2013 for her performance in Sweeney Todd.

Steel Burkhardt stars as Tom and Pat McRoberts stars as Michael. Burdkardt’s stage
experience includes the lead role in Hair on Broadway, London’s West End and the
national tour. McRoberts has played on Broadway in Miss Saigon and Buddy: The
Buddy Holly Story as well as the national tour of Miss Saigon. Both also boast
extensive regional theatre credits, having played at several theatres across the country.

The creative team consists of entirely Houston-based talent. Heading the creative team
are director Bruce Lumpkin and choreographer Michelle Gaudette. A husband and
wife team, Lumpkin and Gaudette have collaborated at TUTS for Elf, Man of La Mancha
and Miss Saigon. Lumpkin previously worked on several Broadway titles including
Grand Hotel, My One and Only, Nine, Stepping Out, and The Best Little Whorehouse In
Texas. Additionally, Lumpkin co-directed Grand Hotel on London’s West End and
served on the creative team for the national tours of Dr. Doolittle and Nine. He received
the Barrymore Award for Best Director and Best Musical for his revisionist look at
Cabaret. Gaudette has performed internationally throughout her career and toured
nationally in Will Rogers Follies. She also performed as a member of the Radio City
Rockettes in New York City for nine years.

Leading the band will be musical director and conductor Jack Beetle. Murder Ballad
marks Beetle’s debut with TUTS. A classically trained opera singer, he has performed
in more than 40 productions in various regional theatres and will help bring this
production’s pop rock score to life for audience members.

Miu Miu bloggers trends event

Miu Miu had a blogger “breakfast” and invited some of the best bloggers in the city. It’s always nice to see these ladies and take pictures of these cute cookies they always conjure up. The new spring line is lovely. I love this black and white cropped coat with jewel detail on the collar.

Houston to Dallas

From Houston to Dallas

In my new position with Mio-Boutique I got to travel to Dallas for FIG and look for my favorites for spring and fall! I love to travel and especially for something like this! I went up there with a friend of mine so I had a partner in crime for the next 4 hours. We stopped at my favorite burger joint along the way for lunch; they have the yummiest burgers and fries, it’s the only time I eat all of something.  20140414-024743.jpg

TEXAS! How I have grown to love you TX20140414-024821.jpg

20140414-024841.jpg

I came from private schools, then begged my parents to let me go to public. Well my public school was as country as they come in my eyes. Not a lot come out of the school and into fashion except for this one. We ended up even going to the same fashion school in l.a. She’s  a brand rep for Paige Denim out of Dallas and gets to travel all over, I never get to seee her but thankfully got to goof around with her at the show. Here are some of my favorites from Paige Denim! GET IN MY CLOSET! I should have ordered some for myself20140414-024903.jpg

our hotel for the night. #lightorbs20140414-025059.jpg

For dinner we found this amazinggggg place near the city! It had a little book nook that I instantly fell in love with and the whole place had  a mid century modern feel, a fire pit outside and inside and a bicycle hanging from the ceiling. The food was okay but the drinks were delish. 20140414-025114.jpg

That morning the owner of Mio-Boutique Claudia, got to come up to the city and have breakfast with us! We traded spots and headed back to Houston.20140414-025137.jpg

But not before explaining to Alyssa that we needed to  pull over and take pictures with the bluebonnets! hah she did not understand the phenomenon of the tx flower and our obsessions.

Vbeaute

I was invited to a meet and greet with “Vogue It girl” Laura Macklowe creator of Vbeaute. An all vegan, gluten free, fragrance free and paraben free anti aging Skincare and lipgloss line. She is exclusive to the Soft Surroundings franchise located in Town and Country.
She has so much energy and immediately loved her line. Especially the Virgin and Dare anti aging Lip Gloss.
I feel like there isn’t anything on the market in her price range that has all of those qualities and has been proven to fight wrinkles. Soft Surroundings in an older demographic but the clothes if paired right can still give a youthful feeling. I didn’t look around at the clothes too much but definitely stop in for the makeup section!

Thank you for the invite!
I can’t wait to get the travel kit for my
Trip to NYC soon. #jetset

Spring Cleaning The Body

Spring Cleaning

As the first few days of spring are upon us here in Texas and the weather is warming up, new is in the air. I want to feel clean from a heavy winter, I want to remove all of the outside and internal clutter and I want to be free from any negative energy. I want to balance out. I started cleaning the entire house today, from room to room and drawer to drawer, putting things in boxes and throwing things away. I want to look at paint and repaint some walls to bring new energy and inspiration in.  Does anyone else do that around spring? I also love to clean other’s clutter and help them find peace and inspiration in their space. It’s fun and therapeutic for me so if you need help reach out. I will be happy to and we can take everything to a few charities I work with.

One day while looking on instagram for juices I came across the Cycle of the Moon Cleanse, I signed up for their newsletters and am finally going to start it.

It is probably really far fetched for a lot of my readers but the basic idea of it is that our bodies are made out  of water and where the moon is in place at certain times can have a true effect on our mental and physical state. Taking all the processes foods out of your diet for an extended amount of time and just focusing on certain juices that they send you recipes for is really suppose to make you not need the extra in life and start to in tune more within yourself.

Today we are in a New Moon phase, it is a time of new beginnings and manifesting positive changes, and for finding time for yourself and seclusion.

It doesn’t matter why you do it but it makes sense right. Everyone at some point in their busy lives needs to really take a step back and either reassess something in their life, look deeper or take time to simply be grateful.

If you are interested in learning more about the cleanse go Here

The idea is to explore and learn the correct way or the better way to live and to conduct our personal affairs by understanding some of the principles that govern our lives.

Houston Symphony Ladies of the Mad Men Era

The Man Men era was a fun time for clothes; I really love where hems hit right below the knee. Whether it was A line or Pencil the bust and waist was accentuated. So this weekend while heading to the Music of the Man Men Era have fun with your outfit, accentuate what you feel comfortable with, head to one of the blowdry bars we have in the city and have them set you with big curls and a berry red lip! Which outfit would you most likely wear?
